Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 19, 2026

This policy explains what information Brain By Design ("we," "us") collects on this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website. It is not a contract and contains no arbitration clause, class-action waiver, or dispute-resolution terms.

Information you give us

When you register for a crash course, we collect the name and email address you type into the registration form. We do not ask for a phone number, a mailing address, a payment method, or any sensitive personal information on this site.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics infrastructure records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. We also record which landing page you registered from so we know which course topic brought you in.

How advertising and analytics cookies are handled depends on where you are visiting from, because the applicable laws differ:

  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: no advertising or tracking cookies are placed until you click "Accept all" or enable them under "Manage preferences." Before you choose, Google's measurement tag runs in a cookieless mode that stores nothing on your device and sends only anonymous, non-identifying signals so we can count visits in aggregate. Meta and LinkedIn are not loaded at all. If you decline, nothing further is loaded.
  • United States and elsewhere: these cookies may load when you arrive, and a notice on the page lets you opt out at any time. Choosing "Opt out of all" stops them and clears them from your browser.

Your choice is remembered on your device, and you can change it whenever you like using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of any page.

Cookies and advertising technologies

Subject to the choices described above, this site loads the following third-party technologies, which may set cookies or similar identifiers and receive information about your visit:

  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measures ad performance and builds advertising audiences.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Corporation) — ad measurement and audiences.
  • Google Tag Manager and Google Ads (Google LLC) — tag management, conversion measurement, and remarketing. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so these tags respect the choice you make here. Where consent has not been given, the tag runs without storing cookies or identifiers and reports only aggregate, anonymous signals.

We use these technologies both to see which ads bring coaches to this site and to show ads to people with similar interests, which includes showing you our ads again on other websites and apps.

What we do not do: this site does not use session replay or screen recording software, does not log your keystrokes or mouse movements, and does not capture anything you type into the registration form until you choose to submit it. We do not use chat widgets, and we do not share the contents of your form entries with advertising providers. (Session recordings of the live training itself are course content we send to registrants, not recordings of your browsing.)

These providers act as independent controllers of the data they receive and are governed by their own privacy policies. Strictly necessary cookies used to operate the site and remember your cookie choice always load, as permitted by law.

How we use information

We use your information to register you for the course, send you the session details, tools, and related educational emails you signed up for, measure how our ads and pages perform, and operate and secure the site.

We do not sell your personal information. Because we use third-party advertising cookies, our use of those cookies may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, and you can opt out at any time using the controls described below.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run this business: our website and database hosting provider, our email and CRM provider (Keap), and the advertising and analytics providers listed above. We also may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your name or email to data brokers or list vendors.

Your choices and rights

  • Cookies and targeted ads: click "Your Privacy Choices" in the footer of any page, or use "Opt out of all" / "Decline optional" in the notice when it appears. You can also clear cookies in your browser to be asked again.
  • Global Privacy Control: we honor recognized browser opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, as an opt-out of sharing for targeted advertising. When we detect one, advertising cookies are not loaded at all — you do not need to do anything else.
  • Email: every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Access, correction, deletion, and opt-out requests: residents of California, other U.S. states with privacy laws, the EEA, and the UK may request a copy of their information, ask us to correct or delete it, or opt out of sharing. Send your request to james@brainbydesign.com. We respond within 30 days, and we will tell you if a request is complex enough to need longer. We may need to verify your identity by matching the email address on file. You may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Data retention and security

We keep each category of information only as long as we need it:

  • Registration details (name, email, and the page you registered from): 3 years after your most recent training, then deleted.
  • Email engagement records (opens, clicks, unsubscribes): 2 years from the date of the activity.
  • Advertising and analytics identifiers set by cookies: up to 13 months in your browser, and up to 180 days in advertising platform audiences, unless you opt out sooner.
  • Consent and opt-out records: kept for as long as we operate this site, because we are required to be able to show that we honored your choice.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time and we will do so, except where we are required to keep a record of your opt-out. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, though no method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure.

Children

This site is intended for professional coaches and other adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
